Beehive/Middle Basin

Date
Activity
Skiing

Toured from the Beehive basin parking lot up to the Beehive/Middle ridgeline and dug a pit on an east aspect at ~9000ft. We chose a normally wind loaded area in search of a hard slab, but did not find it.

85cm snow depth, 40cm of F-4F hard snow above a thin ice crust, and then 45cm of large-grained facets to the ground. CT8 just below the ice crust, ECTN11 on the same layer.

Skied the slope numerous times, no other signs of instability. Skies were overcast, S2 snowfall, wind was light.
